Outbound
Global visas & citizenship
China, the United States, Ireland and the Netherlands — files prepared from our Somerset West office, with the South African documents assembled in one place.
China
Ordinary-passport applications are lodged at a Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (Cape Town, Johannesburg or Durban), not at the embassy counter. The online form is completed on the official visa portal before the appointment. We complete the form, check passport validity and blank pages, the invitation, itinerary and any work- or study-permit notice, and brief you for the appointment.
- L — tourism
- M — commercial and trade visits
- F — exchanges, study tours and official visits
- Z — work, with the required work-permit notification
- X1 / X2 — long- and short-term study
- Q1 / Q2 — family of a Chinese citizen or permanent resident
- S1 / S2 — family of a foreigner working or studying in China, or other private affairs
- G, C, J, R, D — transit, crew, journalist, talent and permanent-residence categories, on the facts
United States
We assist applicants who wish to live and work in the United States, temporarily or permanently — including business and investment routes, performing artists, temporary and religious workers, and cultural-exchange participants. Eligibility is assessed on the individual facts before a route is chosen, and we work with a US-qualified adviser where the category requires it.
Ireland
Ireland is a frequent destination from Cape Town for employment, study and family reunion. We assemble the South African civil and police documents, apostille them, and prepare the file that the Irish authorities will read. Where a permission or appeal must be argued in Ireland, we work with an Irish-qualified adviser.
- Critical Skills and General Employment Permits
- Join-family and de facto partnership files
- Study, and the registration steps that follow a grant of permission
The Netherlands
The Netherlands admits workers, family members and graduates on named entry-visa (MVV) and residence-permit routes. Highly skilled migrants, intra-company transferees and family reunification are the usual instructions. Decisions are taken by the IND; we prepare the South African documents and work with a Dutch-qualified adviser when the file must be lodged or challenged in the Netherlands.
- Highly skilled migrant and recognised-sponsor employment
- Family reunification and partner residence
- Orientation year after Dutch study, where the applicant qualifies
- MVV entry visa and the residence permit that follows
Lithuanian citizenship by descent
South Africans with a Lithuanian parent, grandparent or great-grandparent may be able to restore Lithuanian — and so EU — citizenship.
Documents for use abroad
Most outbound files need South African police clearance, apostilled civil documents or verified qualifications. See government documents.
